Todor Sivov might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fodor Daniel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Todor Sivov ran back to his position shaking his head. Nencho Radionov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Takacs Tibor in the 10th minute of play. Железничар's Nencho Radionov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Major Barna in the 11th minute of play. Antal Valentin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nencho Radionov having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Kaimo Hunt came free, but Fodor Daniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Железничар's Nencho Radionov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Железничар from getting a goal against them. After having played for 21 minutes, Major Barna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hungary's supporters crossed their fingers, but Major Barna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 23rd minute, Yuri Dinolov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Antal Valentin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Nencho Radionov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Железничар's defense didn't have a chance, in the 30th minute, when Antal Valentin scored to the left of an out of position Nencho Radionov, making the score, 1-0. Nencho Radionov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Major Barna in the 33rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antal Valentin in the 37th minute of play forced Железничар's goalkeeper Nencho Radionov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Todor Sivov had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fodor Daniel. Hungary's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Todor Sivov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. If Todor Sivov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th minute Major Barna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nencho Radionov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Antal Valentin was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes had been played when some careless play by Железничар's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Antal Valentin was slow to take the kick. During this time Hungary's players had a chance to rest. Nencho Radionov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Major Barna, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Antal Valentin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nencho Radionov having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Major Barna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hungary's supporters rose to their feet, but Major Barna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nencho Radionov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 62nd minute Hungary were awarded a corner. Antal Valentin went to the cornerflag to take it. Yuri Dinolov charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Yuri Dinolov the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Железничар fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 62nd minute. Penalty! Nencho Radionov came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Hungary's Major Barna. But to his dismay, Major Barna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. The supporters of Hungary booed when Железничар was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kaimo Hunt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antal Valentin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Nencho Radionov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nencho Radionov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antal Valentin in the 75th minute of play. Major Barna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 85th minute, Balazs Lajos made a precise shot to the right of Nencho Radionov. Железничар's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. When Antal Valentin came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Hungary fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antal Valentin couldn't finish the play. Major Barna hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Hungary had played much better football throughout.
