Enzo Noce made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 55th minute of play. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Odysseas Lagidis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wim Wilmes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Enzo Noce read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. In the 92nd minute of the match Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Enzo Noce skillfully saved the ball. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Netherlands from getting a goal against them. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. The Nerd Herd walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
