The supporters of Alexandrie CF booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabricio Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. 11 minutes into the match, Eduardo Cossa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wilson Amorim. Portugal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eduardo Cossa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Viriato Moura in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vítor Baia saved Alexandrie CF from getting behind. Portugal's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Felipe Barreto in the 19th minute. 23 minutes into the match, Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Francisco Conceicão. In the 25th minute, Felipe Barreto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 28th match minute, Alexandrie CF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomás Esteves to maneuver through the defense. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Alexandrie CF's goalkeeper Vítor Baia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Alexandrie CF getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Wang Guang Chuan hit a great ball. It was beautiful to see Portugal's Felipe Barreto in action when he in the 36th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Conceicão in the 45th minute of the match. With a little luck, Portugal's Wilson Amorim got control of the ball when Francisco Conceicão tried to sneak it across the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Francisco Conceicão to strike the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Bartolomeu Dias kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Vítor Baia. That made the score 1-2 in the 89 minute of play. 94 minutes into the game, Rodolfo Miranda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Portugal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alexandrie CF the free kick. In the 94th minute, Rodolfo Miranda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Portugal supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Portugal would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
