An unexpectedly hard shot by Lionel-Andrés Messi in the 23rd minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomás Clodio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34th minute, Lionel-Andrés Messi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pretoria Gostyń fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Germany's Tommy Kahn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Germany from getting a goal against them. Tommy Kahn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomás Clodio in the 47th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

After 52 minutes of play, Pretoria Gostyń's Tomás Clodio made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tommy Kahn was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 57th minute, Pretoria Gostyń's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Adrian Dreifuss fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Lionel-Andrés Messi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th minute Lionel-Andrés Messi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 67 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Lionel-Andrés Messi came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 68 minutes into the game, Lionel-Andrés Messi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Tommy Kahn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 71 minutes into the game, Pretoria Gostyń's Lionel-Andrés Messi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tommy Kahn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. Marcos Ekialde made in the 77th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Piotr Jucha immediately put the ball in play. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomás Clodio in the 85th minute of play. Germany's attentive Linus Schwerner managed to snatch the ball when Aureliusz Komornicki made a throw-in in the 86th minute of the game. Aureliusz Komornicki made in the 87th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Germany's Linus Schwerner. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomás Clodio in the 89th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lionel-Andrés Messi in the 89th minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 90 minutes had been played when some careless play by Germany's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. The corner ended in Wit Dytrych almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Germany's Tommy Kahn did a great save. Tommy Kahn didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wit Dytrych went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score.
