The Wolverhampton fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Wolverhampton's Sotiris Koupepes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tommy Kahn. That made the score 2-0 after 8 minutes of play. Tommy Kahn was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Patrik Lingren showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 11 minute of play. Patrik Lingren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Tommy Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frank Sachs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 18 minutes into the match, Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sotiris Koupepes. Albin Holweck hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute of the match Åke Söderqwist sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tommy Kahn skillfully saved the ball. After having played for 22 minutes, 夏天 Naae managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wolverhampton's supporters crossed their fingers, but 夏天 Naae was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Frank Sachs recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sotiris Koupepes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Patrik Lingren's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tommy Kahn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. In the 35th minute, Patrik Lingren ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tommy Kahn was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sotiris Koupepes, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Acácio Cunha made in the 43rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Sotiris Koupepes immediately put the ball in play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Frank Sachs to make the kick off. Folke Björkdal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Sachs in the 51st minute of play. Patrik Lingren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Wolverhampton booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Dreifuss didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wolverhampton's Sven-Ove Askestät was substituted for Patrik Lingren. Adrian Dreifuss hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Sven-Ove Askestät got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 7-0. 62 minutes into the match. Wolverhampton's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Librado Pamperin in the 75th minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 77th minute of the game. One of Germany:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Wolverhampton:s goal. The excitement rose when Wolverhampton's Sotiris Koupepes after 79 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Germany's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 9-0. The audience was convinced that Sotiris Koupepes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommy Kahn was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. 87 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Sotiris Koupepes came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sotiris Koupepes in the 91st minute of play. Wolverhampton walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
