Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Jardel Meireles made the kick off which started today's match. The crowd rose to their feet as Aírton Pires kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Arnout Reekers. That made the score 1-0 in the 6 minute of play. In the 10th minute of the match Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mazinho Barreto showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 15th minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mazinho Barreto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Maria Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After taking down the ball on FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA's corner Tales Sena fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Arnout Reekers quite easily take care of the ball. The audience was convinced that Jardel Meireles's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnout Reekers was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Mazinho Barreto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 23 minutes FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. Netherlands's Lars Meesters was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mazinho Barreto in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 25 minutes into the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA's Mazinho Barreto. Mazinho Barreto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 29th minute, Lars Meesters left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Lars Meesters made a great header on Netherlands's corner, it was just that FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA's Mazinho Barreto managed to reach the ball for a save. Aírton Pires hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 44th minute, David Eikelkamp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Netherlands were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA made a substitution. Manoel Mandrak replaced Diego Di Toma. FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA's Yu Hong Yong was substituted for Wellington Marquez. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gijsbert ter Kruimer to strike the kick off in the second half. David Eikelkamp's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mazinho Barreto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. After 53 minutes FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA's Jardel Meireles. But to his dismay, Jardel Meireles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Netherlands's David Eikelkamp pulled a muscle in his back after 64 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Jardel Meireles charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jardel Meireles the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 65 played minutes FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA got a freekick which was hit by Jardel Meireles. 68 minutes into the match, FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Mazinho Barreto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Modesto Smitmans hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. In the 76th minute of the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt got a very nice opportunity to score, but Mazinho Barreto was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Mazinho Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lars Meesters fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mazinho Barreto having to interfere. Gijsbert ter Kruimer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Mazinho Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. The supporters of Netherlands booed when FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jardel Meireles didn't get a good kick on the ball. 98 minutes had been played when some careless play by FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. Netherlands's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
