Portugal were awarded a corner in the 9th minute after S.C. Corinthians Paulista's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Felipe Barreto took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Daniel Pimentel heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Fırat Aytekin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viriato Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fırat Aytekin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Moura in the 14th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in S.C. Corinthians Paulista's zone, Felipe Barreto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fırat Aytekin came out of the goal and Felipe Barreto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 18 minutes into the game, S.C. Corinthians Paulista's Johannes Kruuse nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wilson Amorim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Valdecir Carlos kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. After 21 played minutes, Portugal's Felipe Barreto shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fırat Aytekin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Portugal reached it. After a defensive mix-up in Portugal's zone, Ciro da Silveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal and Ciro da Silveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 30 minutes into the match, S.C. Corinthians Paulista's goal looked a bit too open when Viriato Moura came free, but Fırat Aytekin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fırat Aytekin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viriato Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. With a little luck, Portugal's Wilson Amorim got control of the ball when Johannes Kruuse tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Johannes Kruuse's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wilson Amorim was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maurício Rodrigues, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. 41 minutes into the match, S.C. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Johannes Kruuse managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.C. Corinthians Paulista's supporters rose to their feet, but Johannes Kruuse was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilson Amorim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 62 minutes into the match, S.C. Corinthians Paulista's goal looked a bit too open when Caetano Moreira came free, but Fırat Aytekin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Johannes Kruuse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 95thth minute of the game Evandro Trancoso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Portugal's Wilson Amorim was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. S.C. Corinthians Paulista had won after a very even match.
