Gustaaf Groeneveldt ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 36th minute Lars Meesters shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Basso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a kick off. After 51 played minutes The Shadows got a freekick which was hit by Bo á Bø. After a defensive mix-up in The Shadows's zone, Gustaaf Groeneveldt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcos Basso came out of the goal and Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gustaaf Groeneveldt's late challenge caught a The Shadows's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gustaaf Groeneveldt helped the player get up and apologised. In the 54th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wim Wilmes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Marcos Basso made a huge save. The Shadows's Marcos Basso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save The Shadows from getting a goal against them. Marcos Basso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 60th minute of play.
