The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. David Eikelkamp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavius Mantu having to interfere. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kajetan Gondek in the 11th minute of play. Gijsbert ter Kruimer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Flavius Mantu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 14 minutes, Kajetan Gondek mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Delphine Stars and the Netherlands players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Delphine Stars getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Kajetan Gondek hit a great ball. In the 16th match minute, Delphine Stars was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roger Schlagwein to maneuver through the defense. Gustaaf Groeneveldt struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Flavius Mantu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. In the 21st match minute, Delphine Stars was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donald Trump to maneuver through the defense. Gijsbert ter Kruimer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Lars Meesters had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kajetan Gondek received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Arnout Reekers came out and tried to block the shot, but Kajetan Gondek slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 32nd minute. In the 35th minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavius Mantu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 43 minutes, Gustaaf Groeneveldt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kajetan Gondek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gijsbert ter Kruimer to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Flavius Mantu in the 50th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Flavius Mantu. That made the score 1-1 after 50 minutes of play. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gijsbert ter Kruimer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Flavius Mantu having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 61st minute of play forced Delphine Stars's goalkeeper Flavius Mantu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's David Eikelkamp got a free kick in the 66th minute. If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Froilan Maura's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnout Reekers was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafa Alves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Delphine Stars's Froilan Maura in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Netherlands's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Delphine Stars had won, even though Netherlands had held more of the ball.
