The supporters of Germany booed when General Velásquez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Taurino Olano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 31st minute, Frank Sachs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The wind increased when Frank Sachs made the kick off in the second half. Frank Sachs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Estebano Fedeghelli during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, General Velásquez's Estebano Fedeghelli got a free kick in the 74th minute. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Apolo Irigoyen in the 77th minute of play. If Leandro Pfingsthorn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The corner ended in Alonso Macera almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Germany's Tommy Kahn did a great save. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. General Velásquez fully deserved thier win.
