An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 2nd minute of play forced Vila Nova FC's goalkeeper Fiori Mota to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot 9 in the game by Mete Nared from a close distance when the talented Casper Claes managed to make a qualified save. Belgium's players were relieved. Edward Vanderstraeten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Fiori Mota showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. A collision led to Vila Nova FC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Guilherme de Carvalho hit a great ball. Fiori Mota took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edward Vanderstraeten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd match minute, Vila Nova FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vladimir Lara to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Vila Nova FC's Mete Nared slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Casper Claes. That made the score 1-0 after 23 minutes of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mete Nared got free with Casper Claes in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Casper Claes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mete Nared in the 32nd minute. Vila Nova FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rubens Senna in the 34th minute. Vila Nova FC's Rubens Senna was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Casper Claes in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Fiori Mota made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 37th minute of play. Casper Claes made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Mete Nared sent off a good shot on target. Fiori Mota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 42nd minute of the match. Casper Claes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luca Postelnicescu in the 46th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Edward Vanderstraeten made the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vila Nova FC's goalkeeper Fiori Mota, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 58th minute, Mete Nared got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 62 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Luca Postelnicescu came free, but Casper Claes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fiori Mota made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yves Dervaux in the 64th minute. Casper Claes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mete Nared, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee showed Bálint Kerekes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bálint Kerekes hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 76th minute, Yves Dervaux ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fiori Mota was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 82nd minute, Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fiori Mota. Fiori Mota yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Edward Vanderstraeten scored 1-4 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fiori Mota, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Belgium defense, Mete Nared kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Casper Claes. The Belgium fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Casper Claes should have stopped the shot. A sloppy throw-in by Bálint Kerekes in the 92nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Belgium's Sander Dermaut. After having played for 94 minutes, Yves Dervaux managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Belgium's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yves Dervaux was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Belgium eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
