The referee showed Gustaaf Groeneveldt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Mountainhammer United booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustaaf Groeneveldt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roar Klev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gustaaf Groeneveldt struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Roar Klev didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Bo Björck took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Arnout Reekers to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to Mountainhammer United getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Torsten Sundström hit a great ball. David Eikelkamp took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Roar Klev. Roar Klev dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. After 34 played minutes Mountainhammer United got a freekick which was hit by Roger Eriksson. 37 minutes into the game, Miren Gómez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mountainhammer United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Netherlands the free kick. Roar Klev was left in no man's land by his defense there! After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roger Eriksson in the 56th minute of play. Gustaaf Groeneveldt who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 60thth minute tested the skills of Roar Klev when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roger Eriksson in the 61st minute of play. Gustaaf Groeneveldt scored 3-4 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Roar Klev, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Roar Klev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Netherlands played a much better game than Mountainhammer United and deserved their victory. The Mountainhammer United players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
