LANUS's goal looked a bit too open when José Luis Sánchez came free, but Cristian Mergildo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Adamantios Geronimidis put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ediberto Righi. The audience was convinced that Adamantios Geronimidis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ediberto Righi was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. In the 66th minute Ramiro Enrique shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristian Mergildo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to lןןl La Coconeta getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Jorge Jiménez hit a great ball. Ediberto Righi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elvis Crespo in the 71st minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, C.A. LANUS's goal looked a bit too open when Josemir Lujambio came free, but Cristian Mergildo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 85th minute by Adamantios Geronimidis got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 87th minute Josemir Lujambio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristian Mergildo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Mergildo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Josemir Lujambio, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. C.A. LANUS walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
