In the 11th minute Luis Vázquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fulgencio Eyague saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peep Pronk blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gabriel Porfiro having to make a save. After taking down the ball on Luganeros AFC's corner Raphael da Silveira fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Fulgencio Eyague quite easily take care of the ball. 23 minutes into the match, AC LeX Luthor's Peep Pronk sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gabriel Porfiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. AC LeX Luthor's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mario Yepes in the 25th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

With an all-out effort, AC LeX Luthor's Gabriel Porfiro threw himself towards the right post 53 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Peep Pronk, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Peep Pronk's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gabriel Porfiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. In the 57th minute of the match AC LeX Luthor got a corner. Luganeros AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mario Yepes ran over to the corner to take the kick. Luganeros AFC's Jan Hendrik Busch quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Silvestre Semeno, made in the 60th minute of the game. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Luganeros AFC's goalkeeper Gabriel Porfiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the AC LeX Luthor defense, Rey Ronaldo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fulgencio Eyague. The AC LeX Luthor fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fulgencio Eyague should have stopped the shot. Gabriel Porfiro came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by AC LeX Luthor's Zeledon Savion. But to his dismay, Zeledon Savion quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. The supporters of Luganeros AFC booed when AC LeX Luthor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romeo Sanduru didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rey Ronaldo in the 96th minute of play forced AC LeX Luthor's goalkeeper Fulgencio Eyague to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. AC LeX Luthor were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
