Deportivo Popolizio FBC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rius Mascaran was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gabriel Porfiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rius Mascaran in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 24th match minute, Luganeros AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joe Kimutai to maneuver through the defense. In the 25th minute of the match Cris Ronaldo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gabriel Porfiro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Rius Mascaran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rey Ronaldo in the 94th minute of play forced Deportivo Popolizio FBC's goalkeeper Hermann Hesse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Torbjørn Trondsen got free with Gabriel Porfiro in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
