The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gijsbert ter Kruimer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Krzysztof Hajduk in the 52nd minute of play. Ulryk Tomporowski made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Wim Wilmes sent off a good shot on target. Ulryk Tomporowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Eikelkamp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Krzysztof Hajduk's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnout Reekers was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. Netherlands's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Krzysztof Jarmulowicz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. If David Eikelkamp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ulryk Tomporowski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Krzysztof Jarmulowicz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lars Meesters hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stefan Waldoch in the 97th minute of the match.
