The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dedé Alves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 16th minute of the match. Lucian Covataru kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gijsbert ter Kruimer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Gustaaf Groeneveldt. Dedé Alves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 54th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucian Covataru in the 56th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 60 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Laurențiu Cinteză came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. UFC Mahmudie's Laurențiu Cinteză got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 64 minutes into the match, UFC Mahmudie's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Dedé Alves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by UFC Mahmudie's Lucian Covataru. But to his dismay, Lucian Covataru quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. UFC Mahmudie made a substitution. Mihăiţă Cristea replaced Narcis Pârlea. 75 minutes into the match, Sandu Alexa notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Netherlands's Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. UFC Mahmudie's Dedé Alves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save UFC Mahmudie from getting a goal against them. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 81 minutes, Sorin Vârjean mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the UFC Mahmudie and the Netherlands players grew even worse after the yellow card. With a little luck, UFC Mahmudie's Dedé Alves got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 85 minutes, Dedé Alves successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Gustaaf Groeneveldt might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dedé Alves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gustaaf Groeneveldt ran back to his position shaking his head. 95 minutes into the game, Claudiu Coidum was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. UFC Mahmudie's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Netherlands the free kick. The supporters of Netherlands booed when UFC Mahmudie was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudiu Coidum didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. UFC Mahmudie were victorious despite being under pressure from Netherlands for much of the match.
