It was Barnaba Kolba who took care of the corner kick. After a rather tough play, Italy's Zena Busacca got a free kick in the 7th minute. Flavio Vittori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diego Lombas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Lombas came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Inter Milano's goal looked a bit too open when Zaccheo Andolina came free, but Isaac Fix reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kryspin Falk got free with Flavio Vittori in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 20th minute Diego Lombas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Mariusz Mindykowski fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Inter Milano's protests and gave Mariusz Mindykowski a yellow card for diving instead. In the 21st minute, Mariusz Mindykowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Inter Milano's goalkeeper Isaac Fix, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 26th minute Kryspin Falk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flavio Vittori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kryspin Falk in the 28th minute of the match. A throw-in in the 30th minute of the game was made by Mariusz Mindykowski with Barnaba Kolba as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. If Sigfrido Auletta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Porziano Marchitelli scored 0-1 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Isaac Fix, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half Italy were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kryspin Falk stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Italy's Siricio Liotta managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Mariusz Mindykowski in the 51 minute of the game. In the 54th minute Siricio Liotta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isaac Fix saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 56th minute, Witomir Czeszyk ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Flavio Vittori was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Lombas in the 61st minute of play forced Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th minute of the match Inter Milano got a corner. Italy's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Barnaba Kolba ran over to the corner to take the kick. Inter Milano's Barnaba Kolba was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Flavio Vittori in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The supporters of Italy booed when Inter Milano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teofil Kornasiewicz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 74th minute, Italy's Siricio Liotta ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Isaac Fix. Isaac Fix yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Siricio Liotta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Flavio Vittori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Lombas in the 88th minute of the match. Lucjan Sidorowicz made in the 93rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Italy's Siricio Liotta. In the 95th minute, Adriano Curto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Isaac Fix was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. When the match was over Italy could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Inter Milano throughout the match.
