Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Aki Guardo scored 1-0 in the 3rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Maxime Durand, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of France booed when LUIZ PANATO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmundo Ortiz didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Maxime Durand managed to avoid a goal in the 8thth minute, when LUIZ PANATO's Chiquinho Faria fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. France's Maxime Durand played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aki Guardo in the 12th minute of play. Edmundo Ortiz made in the 14th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Carlos Azevedo however managed to control. After 14 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for France! The audience thought a goal was coming when Aki Guardo got free with Maxime Durand in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Maxime Durand showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chiquinho Faria, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 25 minutes into the game, Chiquinho Faria recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Maxime Durand. Chiquinho Faria showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. When the match clock showed 31 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Aki Guardo sped through France's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Maxime Durand. Luiz Paulo Ferreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Maxime Durand tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomás de Lima charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tomás de Lima the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 37th minute, Tomás de Lima hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 37th minute of the match David Barbier shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Guto Taffarel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 40 minutes LUIZ PANATO's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was David Barbier who took care of the corner kick. Frank Peletier charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Frank Peletier the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 42nd minute, Frank Peletier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

In the 51st minute, David Barbier fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. LUIZ PANATO's Aki Guardo got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 56th minute, Frank Peletier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 59th minute, Frank Peletier ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Guto Taffarel was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. If Camille Baume had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guto Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camille Baume in the 66th minute of play. Frank Peletier might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Guto Taffarel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Frank Peletier ran back to his position shaking his head. David Barbier who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 67thth minute tested the skills of Guto Taffarel when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 67 minutes into the game, David Barbier lined in a short shot 4-2 behind a frustrated Guto Taffarel. In the 70th minute, Luiz Paulo Ferreira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Guto Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Peletier in the 72nd minute of play. A collision led to France getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Alexis Bruneau hit a great ball. Luiz Paulo Ferreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maxime Durand having to interfere. In the 77th minute, LUIZ PANATO's Pedro Luiz Paiva seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Pedro Luiz Paiva the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of LUIZ PANATO protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Pedro Luiz Paiva had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 77 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for LUIZ PANATO! Guto Taffarel had in the 79thth minute some difficulties stopping David Barbier's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his right side, but he still managed to hold the ball Guto Taffarel was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but David Barbier showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-3 in the 79 minute of play. In the 85th minute, Frank Peletier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Maxime Durand showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aki Guardo in the 86th minute of the match. If Aki Guardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Camille Baume received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Guto Taffarel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 93rd match minute, France was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robert Chapuis to maneuver through the defense. 95 minutes into the match, France's goal looked a bit too open when Aki Guardo came free, but Maxime Durand reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frank Peletier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Guto Taffarel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frank Peletier in the 96th minute. The LUIZ PANATO players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
