Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) MC ESPANHOL's Frits Evenhuis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Virgílio Serpa succeeded in the game's 3rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. Teófilo Belém took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 15 minutes into the match, MC ESPANHOL's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Teófilo Belém reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Gustaaf Groeneveldt came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustaaf Groeneveldt couldn't finish the play. Teófilo Belém made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 25th minute of play. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Severino Ribeiro sent off a good shot on target. Teófilo Belém showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Teófilo Belém saved MC ESPANHOL from getting behind. Teófilo Belém didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was the one to do the kick off. The corner went over the outstretched arms of MC ESPANHOL's goalie and right to Gijsbert ter Kruimer. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. MC ESPANHOL's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Gijsbert ter Kruimer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Teófilo Belém made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 59th minute of play. In the 60th minute Netherlands were awarded a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer went to the cornerflag to take it. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Lars Meesters hit a great ball. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kostas Sourpis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Teófilo Belém made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 73rd minute of play. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frits Evenhuis in the 74th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, MC ESPANHOL's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Teófilo Belém reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute Virgílio Serpa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 80th minute, Kostas Sourpis made a precise shot to the right of Arnout Reekers. Netherlands's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. 86 minutes into the match, Virgílio Serpa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arnout Reekers. Netherlands's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Virgílio Serpa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. 89 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Teófilo Belém narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 90 minutes had been played when some careless play by MC ESPANHOL's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. 95 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Lars Meesters sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Teófilo Belém narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the referee blew the final whistle, MC ESPANHOL could leave the field as winners, despite Netherlands having more of the ball for most of the match.
