When Hegedus Henrik came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Hungary fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hegedus Henrik couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Durval Fantini in the 28th minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gusmão Vilhena lost his temper 38 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 37th minute of the game. One of Sporting DoutroMundo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Hungary:s goal. Serafim Eanes had in the 39thth minute some difficulties stopping Antal Valentin's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Serafim Eanes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antal Valentin in the 42nd minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Durval Fantini came free, but Fodor Daniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Durval Fantini was the one to do the kick off. Sporting DoutroMundo's Serafim Eanes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Major Barna in the 52nd minute of play. 56 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Durval Fantini came free, but Fodor Daniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fodor Daniel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Durval Fantini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ademar Seixas kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. In the 61st minute Durval Fantini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fodor Daniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, Ademar Seixas put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Fodor Daniel. After a defensive mix-up in Hungary's zone, Durval Fantini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fodor Daniel came out of the goal and Durval Fantini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fodor Daniel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Durval Fantini in the 83rd minute of the match. 86 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hungary's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Eduardo Fontoura was slow to take the kick. During this time Sporting DoutroMundo's players had a chance to rest. In the 93rd minute, Major Barna left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hungary fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Hungary's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
