The Denmark fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Keld Paulsen should have stopped the shot. When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Zbigniew Buczko sped through Denmark's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Keld Paulsen. 27 minutes into the match, Denmark's goal looked a bit too open when Zbigniew Buczko came free, but Keld Paulsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Real Madrid's goal looked a bit too open when Chris Nygaard came free, but Esteban Beti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Denmark's Keld Paulsen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Denmark from getting a goal against them. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.
