Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John-Paul Marquant, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. If John-Paul Marquant had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th minute, John-Paul Marquant left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Green Madness fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. After 22 minutes Germany's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was La Škarpa who took care of the corner kick. Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from John-Paul Marquant in the 24th minute of the match. Marcelino Flor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Sachs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A well-hit corner resulted in John-Paul Marquant heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. John-Paul Marquant might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tommy Kahn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. John-Paul Marquant ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marcelino Flor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albin Holweck in the 31st minute of the match. In the 33rd minute John-Paul Marquant shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Green Madness's John-Paul Marquant in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The supporters of Germany booed when Green Madness was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mário Lendaa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 44 minutes into the game, Linus Schwerner threw the ball into play from the sideline. Green Madness's La Škarpa quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The audience was convinced that John-Paul Marquant's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommy Kahn was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. After some careless play in the Germany defense, John-Paul Marquant kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tommy Kahn. The Germany fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tommy Kahn should have stopped the shot. Ahmet Orhan Perk blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tommy Kahn having to make a save. 93 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Terry Peysson came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
