In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Atletico Roma's goalkeeper Amedeo Scrima, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Amedeo Scrima showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Major Barna in the 23rd minute of the match. If Major Barna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Atletico Roma defense, Major Barna kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amedeo Scrima. The Atletico Roma fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amedeo Scrima should have stopped the shot. Atletico Roma's Amedeo Scrima played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hegedus Henrik in the 31st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Atletico Roma's zone, Antal Valentin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amedeo Scrima came out of the goal and Antal Valentin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hegedus Henrik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amedeo Scrima having to interfere. Takacs Tibor struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Amedeo Scrima didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hungary. Atletico Roma's Amedeo Scrima played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Takacs Tibor in the 39th minute of play. Lúcio de Queiroz's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Fodor Daniel firmly grabbed it by the left post. 48 minutes into the match, Antal Valentin notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Atletico Roma's Amedeo Scrima. Amedeo Scrima was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 59th minute, Atletico Roma's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Major Barna fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After a rather tough play, Atletico Roma's Amerigo Cilli got a free kick in the 60th minute. With a little luck, Atletico Roma's Amedeo Scrima got control of the ball when Antal Valentin tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Hegedus Henrik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fodor Daniel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amadeu Quintal in the 76th minute of the match. Atletico Roma's Amedeo Scrima proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Atletico Roma from getting a goal against them. 86 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Amadeu Quintal came free, but Fodor Daniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amedeo Scrima made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Major Barna sent off a good shot on target. Atletico Roma's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hungary the free kick.
