In the 23rdth minute of the game Camille Baume who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cuiavia Bydgoszcz's Sydney Pena was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 24 minutes, Jerzy Grocholski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cuiavia Bydgoszcz and the France players grew even worse after the yellow card. Maxime Durand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jerzy Grocholski in the 34th minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Cuiavia Bydgoszcz's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Peletier came free, but Sydney Pena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zdzislaw Marczyniec was the one to do the kick off.
