The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Czech Republic's Erik Jilek dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Alan Rezek hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Argi Saura hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Bob Cazeneuve showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denis Dostal, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. In the 22nd minute Gartzea Vera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vavrinec Holub saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 26 minutes, Tomás Quadros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MLM's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomás Quadros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 31 minutes, Gartzea Vera mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MLM and the Czech Republic players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 31 played minutes MLM got a freekick which was hit by Gartzea Vera. After 42 minutes, Brun Mangas mouthed his way into the referee's book. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Czech Republic booed when MLM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henrik Tidén didn't get a good kick on the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Erik Jilek made the kick off in the second half. Bob Cazeneuve made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erik Jilek in the 52nd minute of play. Vavrinec Holub made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Gartzea Vera sent off a good shot on target. When Anartz Tobia fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MLM's protests and gave Anartz Tobia a yellow card for diving instead. 65 minutes into the match, MLM's goal looked a bit too open when Denis Dostal came free, but Bob Cazeneuve reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. MLM's Oliverio Lopez de Toro was substituted for Charro Alavedra. Czech Republic were awarded a corner in the 68th minute after MLM's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Erik Jilek took the corner. After 74 played minutes MLM got a freekick which was hit by Tomás Quadros. Alan Rezek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. MLM's Bob Cazeneuve played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denis Dostal in the 80th minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 81st minute of the game. One of MLM:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Czech Republic:s goal. 82 minutes into the game, Erik Jilek cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Bob Cazeneuve was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Erik Jilek blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bob Cazeneuve having to make a save. Gartzea Vera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vavrinec Holub having to interfere. Tomás Quadros might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vavrinec Holub. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomás Quadros ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to MLM getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Argi Saura hit a great ball. MLM's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Czech Republic had won, even though MLM had held more of the ball.
