Reinaldo Ramos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lars Meesters kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. After 19 minutes of play, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Reinaldo Ramos was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Gijsbert ter Kruimer came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gijsbert ter Kruimer couldn't finish the play. Reinaldo Ramos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 26th minute of the match. Arnout Reekers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elias Paredes in the 27th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Netherlands. Gustaaf Groeneveldt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Reinaldo Ramos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gijsbert ter Kruimer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Gustaaf Groeneveldt came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. Gustaaf Groeneveldt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Reinaldo Ramos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The ►Las Mercedes F.C◄ fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Netherlands were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
