Netherlands were awarded a corner in the 14th minute after Fhury FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the corner. Serafim Rebocho tried in the 15th minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Tiago Rodrigues a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Tiago Rodrigues in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by Fhury FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a great header on Netherlands's corner, it was just that Fhury FC's Tiago Rodrigues managed to reach the ball for a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 24th minute of play forced Fhury FC's goalkeeper Tiago Rodrigues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the game, Vivaldo Rego was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. With a little luck, Fhury FC's Tiago Rodrigues got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tiago Rodrigues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Gustaaf Groeneveldt, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 51 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Tiago Rodrigues was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. If Bruno Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tiago Rodrigues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. When Bruno Rodrigues came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Fhury FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bruno Rodrigues couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Fhury FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isac Tristão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 74 minutes, Arnout Reekers successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aloísio Barbosa in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arnout Reekers saved Netherlands from getting behind. Fhury FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Serafim Rebocho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 85th minute, Fhury FC's Aloísio Barbosa dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-1. In the 94th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. Netherlands were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Fhury FC for a fine match.
