Thommy Maerschalks's late challenge caught a Hungary's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thommy Maerschalks helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Hungary booed when Westbeke was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thommy Maerschalks didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antal Valentin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 18th minute Balazs Lajos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brian Hunaerts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 19th minute Hungary were awarded a corner. Antal Valentin went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Antal Valentin almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Westbeke's Brian Hunaerts did a great save. Brian Hunaerts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Major Barna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Westbeke's Arnout Verhaert got a free kick in the 24th minute. The audience cheered when Antal Valentin's long shot passed Brian Hunaerts's right side. It was 1-1, 25 minutes into the match. After 27 played minutes Westbeke got a freekick which was hit by Arnout Verhaert. 30 minutes into the match, Westbeke's goal looked a bit too open when Major Barna came free, but Brian Hunaerts reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brian Hunaerts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Major Barna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Westbeke's Brian Hunaerts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Major Barna in the 34th minute of play. Antal Valentin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brian Hunaerts having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Major Barna in the 38th minute of play forced Westbeke's goalkeeper Brian Hunaerts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Westbeke's Bertrand Verhulst got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hungary's Antal Valentin managed to work through Westbeke's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Antal Valentin dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Remie Uytebroeck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Katona Janos charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Katona Janos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lex Stoffels might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fodor Daniel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lex Stoffels ran back to his position shaking his head. Takacs Tibor hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Antal Valentin was the one to do the kick off. Westbeke's Brian Hunaerts proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Westbeke from getting a goal against them. 54 minutes into the game, one of Hungary:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Jens van Haghten shot the penalty kick right outside the post. In the 59th minute of the match Hungary got a corner. Westbeke's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Antal Valentin ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a rather tough play, Westbeke's Arnout Verhaert got a free kick in the 60th minute. A collision led to Hungary getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Katona Janos hit a great ball. Fodor Daniel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jens van Haghten, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Major Barna who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 81stth minute tested the skills of Brian Hunaerts when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Stefaan Weynants kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Takacs Tibor in the 97th minute of play forced Westbeke's goalkeeper Brian Hunaerts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnout Verhaert hit a great freekick 101 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Hungary's Antal Valentin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Brian Hunaerts. That made the score 1-2 after 102 minutes of play. The Westbeke fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Hungary were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
