With a little luck, Italy's Flavio Vittori got control of the ball when Jose-Antonio Vazquez tried to sneak it across the goal line. 9 minutes into the match, Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jose-Antonio Vazquez. The throw-in from Federico Zanetti in the 15th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Italy's Siricio Liotta. Federico Zanetti got a throw-in 16 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Jose-Antonio Vazquez. 17 minutes into the game, Jose-Antonio Vazquez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Italy the free kick. Jose-Antonio Vazquez kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Zaccheo Andolina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alejandro Verdu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. In the 20th minute Italy were awarded a corner. Sigfrido Auletta went to the cornerflag to take it. Alejandro Verdu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zaccheo Andolina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th minute Siricio Liotta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alejandro Verdu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alejandro Verdu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sigfrido Auletta, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Alejandro Verdu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zaccheo Andolina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 38 minutes, Sigfrido Auletta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Italy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sigfrido Auletta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Deodato Magliozzi made in the 42nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Porziano Marchitelli immediately put the ball in play. Italy's Flavio Vittori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Neal Messer in the 44th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zaccheo Andolina stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alejandro Verdu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sigfrido Auletta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 59 minutes into the match, F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's goal looked a bit too open when Zaccheo Andolina came free, but Alejandro Verdu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 61st minute of play forced F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA's goalkeeper Alejandro Verdu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Italy's Sigfrido Auletta was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Alejandro Verdu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 67th minute Jose-Antonio Vazquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Italy's Siricio Liotta managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Federico Zanetti in the 76 minute of the game. Flavio Vittori showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jose-Antonio Vazquez, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Alejandro Verdu was out of position in the 83 minute of play, and Zaccheo Andolina capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Zaccheo Andolina really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. Alejandro Verdu was a little too slow when Adriano Curto got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 88th minute. The score was now 0-2. Adriano Curto struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Alejandro Verdu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Italy.
