The Original Wonderteam were furious when Ian Van Den Driessche was red carded, 22 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Xie Shu Tian shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Juarês Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pecém were awarded a corner in the 28th minute after The Original Wonderteam's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ibon Obeso took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of The Original Wonderteam's goalie and right to Arnaldo Antunes. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. The Original Wonderteam's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Xie Shu Tian recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Original Wonderteam's Philip Boffin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xie Shu Tian in the 39th minute of play. Denílson Leão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valko De Hond, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alek Candries stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Philip Boffin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xie Shu Tian, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Juarês Borges might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Philip Boffin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Juarês Borges ran back to his position shaking his head. Denílson Leão stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alek Candries's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. Philip Boffin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xie Shu Tian in the 62nd minute of the match. Xie Shu Tian recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luca Schroeder hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. The Original Wonderteam made a substitution. Dirk Vanden Driessche replaced Stein Van Buyten. The Original Wonderteam's Benjamin Specht was substituted for Valko De Hond. In the 68th match minute, Pecém was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luca Schroeder to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xie Shu Tian in the 70th minute of play forced The Original Wonderteam's goalkeeper Philip Boffin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Xie Shu Tian's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Philip Boffin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. After having played for 74 minutes, Alek Candries managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Original Wonderteam's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alek Candries was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lucio Austin charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lucio Austin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the match had gone on for 110 minutes, Xie Shu Tian took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Philip Boffin to make any attempt to save it. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Pecém had played much better football throughout.
