The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of KD Stiger booed when MINEIROS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Paraíba didn't get a good kick on the ball. 10 minutes into the match, KD Stiger's goal looked a bit too open when Hugo Albuquerque came free, but Gustaf Rudberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11th minute of the match, Pål Strömberg tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Serginho Taffarel saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Serginho Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pål Strömberg in the 12th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pål Strömberg in the 12th minute of play forced MINEIROS's goalkeeper Serginho Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jack Tolsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Serginho Taffarel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 21 minutes, Pål Strömberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KD Stiger and the MINEIROS players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of MINEIROS booed when KD Stiger was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pål Strömberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Henrik Christoffersson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of Serginho Taffarel when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jack Tolsson in the 27th minute of play forced MINEIROS's goalkeeper Serginho Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. During the 43rd minute of the match Pål Strömberg completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Pål Strömberg a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 44th minute, Pål Strömberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46thth minute of the game Toninho Goiano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KD Stiger's Gustaf Rudberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 46th match minute, KD Stiger was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vilgot Sandberg to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th minute of the match Wenceslao Taffarel shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gustaf Rudberg showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jack Tolsson to make the kick off. A collision led to KD Stiger getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Oskar Offendahl hit a great ball. Gustaf Rudberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toninho Goiano in the 56th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Albuquerque in the 62nd minute of play forced KD Stiger's goalkeeper Gustaf Rudberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gustaf Rudberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hugo Albuquerque went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. KD Stiger's Gustaf Rudberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toninho Goiano in the 68th minute of play. Joel Quadros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. MINEIROS made a substitution. Nilson de Souza replaced João Vítor Linhares. MINEIROS made a substitution. Vágner Gaspar replaced Christian Fernandes. In the 77th minute Hugo Albuquerque shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustaf Rudberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gustaf Rudberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vágner Gaspar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Henrik Christoffersson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the KD Stiger defense, Hugo Albuquerque kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gustaf Rudberg. The KD Stiger fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gustaf Rudberg should have stopped the shot. In the 88th minute, Wenceslao Taffarel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 95 minutes into the match, Joel Quadros dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gustaf Rudberg, 1-3.

The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. MINEIROS walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
