An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Eger in the 18th minute of play forced KFC Cromvelde's goalkeeper Daniel Rokeloos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Rokeloos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Umberto Dionísio in the 18th minute of play. A collision led to Castanheiro SC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Fellipe da Silva hit a great ball. In the 25th minute Rajmond Pieters shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedrinho Guimarães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 30 minutes, Hugo Herpoel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KFC Cromvelde's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hugo Herpoel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Umberto Dionísio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Castanheiro SC's Pedrinho Guimarães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugo Herpoel in the 39th minute of play. Serafim Cearense's late challenge caught a KFC Cromvelde's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Serafim Cearense helped the player get up and apologised. In the 43rd match minute, Castanheiro SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serafim Cearense to maneuver through the defense. 46 minutes into the match, KFC Cromvelde's goal looked a bit too open when Anísio Alagoano came free, but Daniel Rokeloos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rajmond Pieters was the one to do the kick off. Marcelo Eger hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Castanheiro SC's Pedrinho Guimarães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rajmond Pieters in the 54th minute of play. Daniel Rokeloos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Umberto Dionísio, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. In the 59th match minute, Castanheiro SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anísio Alagoano to maneuver through the defense. Jimmy Cromefeldt struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Pedrinho Guimarães didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KFC Cromvelde. With an all-out effort, Castanheiro SC's Daniel Rokeloos threw himself towards the right post 70 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Marcelo Eger, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 76 minutes KFC Cromvelde's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Anísio Alagoano who took care of the corner kick. 79 minutes into the match, KFC Cromvelde's goal looked a bit too open when Magno Pereira came free, but Daniel Rokeloos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, KFC Cromvelde's Daniel Rokeloos got control of the ball when Umberto Dionísio tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Umberto Dionísio got free with Daniel Rokeloos in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The Castanheiro SC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Castanheiro SC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
