Austria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabio Schneider was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jonas Nalder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sandro Galishoff might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emanuel Sjögren. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sandro Galishoff ran back to his position shaking his head. Jonas Nalder scored 0-1 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Emanuel Sjögren, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Vångens IF's zone, Jonas Nalder stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emanuel Sjögren came out of the goal and Jonas Nalder tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Sakarias Pilgren fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vångens IF's protests and gave Sakarias Pilgren a yellow card for diving instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pelle Karlsson during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Vångens IF's zone, Sandro Galishoff stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emanuel Sjögren came out of the goal and Sandro Galishoff tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Austria were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sandro Galishoff to make the kick off. Vångens IF's Pelle Karlsson got his second yellow card of the match in the 55th minute. The referee ordered Pelle Karlsson off the ground. Fabio Auer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sandro Galishoff might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emanuel Sjögren. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sandro Galishoff ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Vincent Prütz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabio Auer was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vincent Prütz in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabio Auer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 79 minutes of play, Vångens IF's Vincent Prütz made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fabio Auer was left in no man's land by his defense there! Emanuel Sjögren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabio Schneider in the 87th minute of play. 89 minutes into the match, Austria's goal looked a bit too open when Vincent Prütz came free, but Fabio Auer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabio Auer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vincent Prütz, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. A collision led to Vångens IF getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Roland Lindström hit a great ball. Vångens IF succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Austria had controlled the match.
