Kroton F.C.'s Martin Eriksson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 27th minute of play. Arnout Reekers was a little too slow when Johannes Støle got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 2-0. Gijsbert ter Kruimer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Martin Eriksson having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Kroton F.C.'s zone, Gustaaf Groeneveldt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martin Eriksson came out of the goal and Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 39 minutes into the match, Gijsbert ter Kruimer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Martin Eriksson. Kroton F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gijsbert ter Kruimer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Bas Tuitert got a free kick in the 41st minute. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Veli Vefa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Kroton F.C.'s Fabrizio Vieri got a free kick in the 46th minute.

The wind increased when Severino Messias made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Kroton F.C. booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Eikelkamp didn't get a good kick on the ball. 56 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Cristiano Chitarroni came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johannes Støle in the 59th minute of play. Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Eriksson having to interfere. Wim Wilmes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Severino Messias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lars Meesters sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Martin Eriksson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lars Meesters, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. 87 minutes into the match, Kroton F.C.'s goalkeeper Martin Eriksson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wim Wilmes. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Veli Vefa in the 88th minute of play. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Kroton F.C.'s Severino Messias. But to his dismay, Severino Messias quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Bas Tuitert hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. 94 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Severino Messias came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Severino Messias's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnout Reekers was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. When the referee blew the final whistle, Kroton F.C. could leave the field as winners, despite Netherlands having more of the ball for most of the match.
