Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gijsbert ter Kruimer started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, AC MiLaN's goalkeeper Iurie Chiriacescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt. Thanks to some nice moves Gustaaf Groeneveldt could shoot a difficult shot in the 4th minute, which Iurie Chiriacescu however easily saved by the left post. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. David Eikelkamp hit a great ball. Through an outstanding action, after 9 minutes, Iurie Chiriacescu successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 17 minutes had been played when some careless play by AC MiLaN's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer to fire away a dangerous shot which Iurie Chiriacescu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 19th match minute, AC MiLaN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nae Ionescu to maneuver through the defense. Gijsbert ter Kruimer might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Iurie Chiriacescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 22nd minute Aurelian Acalinei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 29th minute Nae Ionescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emil Văcărescu in the 31st minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flavius Pârâianu in the 41st minute of play. If Gustaaf Groeneveldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Flavius Pârâianu made a kick off. Nae Ionescu hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Gustaaf Groeneveldt scored 1-0 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Iurie Chiriacescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 59th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Netherlands's zone, Filip Vlaicu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal and Filip Vlaicu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 64 minutes into the match, AC MiLaN's goal looked a bit too open when Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free, but Iurie Chiriacescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 66th minute of play forced AC MiLaN's goalkeeper Iurie Chiriacescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iurie Chiriacescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. AC MiLaN's Dorel Crăcană suffered a concussion after 90 minutes and had to leave the field. 90 minutes into the game, Lars Meesters was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Netherlands's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AC MiLaN the free kick. Lars Meesters kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match.
