The corner ended in Lars Meesters almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Rock Hard FC's Kenneth Drange did a great save. Wim Wilmes scored 0-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kenneth Drange, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Netherlands's Wim Wilmes got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hans-Martin Torvund in the 28th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Rock Hard FC's zone, Gijsbert ter Kruimer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kenneth Drange came out of the goal and Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Eilert Totland sent off a good shot on target. Kenneth Drange made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 37th minute of play. After 44 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Gustaaf Groeneveldt. In the 47th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gijsbert ter Kruimer to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Rock Hard FC's Jim-André Kirkevold got a free kick in the 50th minute. Kenneth Drange made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 51st minute of play. Jim-André Kirkevold hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Rock Hard FC's goalie and right to Kees Mooiweer. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Rock Hard FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 65 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Hans-Martin Torvund came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 67th minute. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tage Øye in the 70th minute of the match. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sigve Ramberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Kenneth Drange showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 75th minute of the match. Kenneth Drange had in the 88thth minute some difficulties stopping Gijsbert ter Kruimer's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 95th minute, Jim-André Kirkevold hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 97 minutes into the match, Rock Hard FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lars Meesters came free, but Kenneth Drange reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Netherlands supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Netherlands would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
