After 6 minutes Rapid's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Antal Valentin who took care of the corner kick. A very nice done corner allowed Takacs Tibor to score against Fabian Abeijon in Rapid's goal. 1-0 after 7 minutes. Balazs Lajos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Fabian Abeijon made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ian Sparks during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ian Sparks kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Fabian Abeijon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Major Barna in the 23rd minute. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by Rapid's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Antal Valentin was slow to take the kick. During this time Hungary's players had a chance to rest. When Rapid's Mohamed Barron in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hungary's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Hungary booed when Rapid was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ian Sparks didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bartlomiej Puchlik's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fodor Daniel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Fodor Daniel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leon Palban, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mohamed Barron to strike the kick off in the second half. If Major Barna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. Rapid's Fabian Abeijon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antal Valentin in the 54th minute of play. Fabian Abeijon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antal Valentin in the 55th minute of play. Hegedus Henrik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabian Abeijon having to interfere. 60 minutes into the match, Rapid's goal looked a bit too open when Antal Valentin came free, but Fabian Abeijon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mohamed Barron kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 62ndth minute. Though ot was a great shot Hungary's keeper Fodor Daniel was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. In the 69th minute Hungary were awarded a corner. Antal Valentin went to the cornerflag to take it. Takacs Tibor made a great header on Hungary's corner, it was just that Rapid's Fabian Abeijon managed to reach the ball for a save. If Leon Palban had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fodor Daniel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mohamed Barron, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 74th play minute Mohamed Barron came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Fodor Daniel. 4-1. Rapid's Fabian Abeijon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Balazs Lajos in the 83rd minute of play. Mohamed Barron struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Fodor Daniel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rapid. The supporters of Rapid booed when Hungary was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Takacs Tibor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hungary walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
