When Bertram Svenningsen came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Denmark fans jumped to their feet. The supporters of Denmark booed when Juventus Țiu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victor Uzuneanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Codruț Gogu came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Denmark's Chris Nygaard. But to his dismay, Chris Nygaard quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Daniel Mihele in the 13thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Keld Paulsen, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Octavian Zbârlea's late challenge caught a Denmark's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Octavian Zbârlea helped the player get up and apologised. Codruț Gogu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bertram Svenningsen in the 24th minute of play. Codruț Gogu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bertram Svenningsen in the 28th minute of the match. Chris Nygaard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 33 minutes of play, Denmark's Chris Nygaard made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Codruț Gogu was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Daniel Mihele took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Keld Paulsen to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chris Nygaard in the 44th minute of play forced Juventus Țiu's goalkeeper Codruț Gogu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A throw-in in the 46th minute of the game was made by Damian Țepeneag with Daniel Mihele as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After the first half Denmark were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Chris Nygaard to strike the kick off in the second half. If Victor Uzuneanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 63 minutes, Olav Graversen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Denmark's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olav Graversen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bertram Svenningsen got free with Codruț Gogu in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Manuel Boteanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Chris Nygaard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 76th minute, Denmark's Chris Nygaard dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. Codruț Gogu was a little too slow when Olav Graversen got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 81st minute. The score was now 1-4. 85 minutes into the game, Lars Steen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Denmark's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Juventus Țiu the free kick. In the 86th minute, Manuel Boteanu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Keld Paulsen was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. 90 minutes into the game, Bertram Svenningsen recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Codruț Gogu. Bertram Svenningsen showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-5. Bertram Svenningsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute.
