The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Conny Stober to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 85th minute, Alwin Korte made a precise shot to the right of Ingmar Brask. AIF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conny Stober in the 92nd minute of play forced AIF's goalkeeper Ingmar Brask to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Otto Hamberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Dietrich Heppner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ingmar Brask was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jari Anzengruber showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-6 in the 96 minute of play. When the match was over Academica Pulheim could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than AIF throughout the match.
