The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. AIF were furious when Douglas Hellgren was red carded, 3 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After some careless play in the AIF defense, Gonçalo Lobo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of William Fogel. The AIF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that William Fogel should have stopped the shot. Garanhão do SUL's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Filinto Coelho in the 12th minute. After taking down the ball on Garanhão do SUL's corner Filinto Coelho fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and William Fogel quite easily take care of the ball. Tomás Cerqueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of AIF booed when Garanhão do SUL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Catarino Correia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cássio Madeira kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. William Fogel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomás Cerqueira went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. After 29 minutes of play, Garanhão do SUL's Gonçalo Lobo made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. William Fogel was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 34th minute, Cássio Madeira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 35th minute, Cássio Madeira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 36 played minutes, AIF's Emanuel Larsfält shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Joel Maciel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in AIF reached it. Aristides Brochado hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gonçalo Lobo in the 44th minute of play forced AIF's goalkeeper William Fogel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

A collision led to Garanhão do SUL getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Gonçalo Lobo hit a great ball. In the 62nd minute Gonçalo Lobo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Fogel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Tomás Cerqueira took a quick shot and it went in 0-6 without a chance for William Fogel to make any attempt to save it. 70 minutes into the match, AIF's goal looked a bit too open when Gonçalo Lobo came free, but William Fogel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st minute Otto Hamberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Maciel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of AIF booed when Garanhão do SUL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filinto Coelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gaspar Valadão got free with William Fogel in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Otto Hamberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Maciel having to interfere. If Gonçalo Lobo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The AIF supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Garanhão do SUL's performance. The match ended with a win for Garanhão do SUL.
