Casper Claes was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 29th minute, Diego Jaunzuria got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sacro Balompié's Baltasar Sancho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 33rd minute of play. Gaudencio Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. 39 minutes into the match, Matias Maties had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Casper Claes. Belgium's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Matias Maties was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. In the 45th minute Miguel Almiron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Claes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

If Sander Dermaut had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Belgium's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
