In the 85th minute, Wim Wilmes made a precise shot to the right of Emanuel Jacob. Ardiles's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Ardiles's Feliberto Ramirez was substituted for Indiana Jones. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Jimeno Abastas sent off a good shot on target. Emanuel Jacob showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 96th minute of the match. Netherlands were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Ardiles to leave the ground with a draw.
