Thanks to some nice moves Wladyslaw Maciejewski could shoot a difficult shot in the 30th minute, which Arnout Reekers however easily saved by the left post. Borys Biegun could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Arnout Reekers made a huge save. Lucjan Zbytniewski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 36th minute of the match. Borys Biegun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnout Reekers having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Wim Wilmes made a precise shot to the right of Lucjan Zbytniewski. Nadodrze Wrocław's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Berat Haliç recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hadji Diouf kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was the one to do the kick off. Gustaaf Groeneveldt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lucjan Zbytniewski having to make a save. Lucjan Zbytniewski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 59th minute of the match. When Hadji Diouf fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nadodrze Wrocław's protests and gave Hadji Diouf a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Nadodrze Wrocław booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kees Mooiweer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nadodrze Wrocław's Lucjan Zbytniewski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lars Meesters in the 96th minute of play. Netherlands were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
