Prudencio Jurgi kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Pergamino's zone, Gijsbert ter Kruimer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hermengildo Aresti came out of the goal and Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gijsbert ter Kruimer to make the kick off. With a little luck, Deportivo Pergamino's Hermengildo Aresti got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Deportivo Pergamino getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Abelardo Chorache hit a great ball. After taking down the ball on Netherlands's corner Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Hermengildo Aresti quite easily take care of the ball. With an all-out effort, Netherlands's Hermengildo Aresti threw himself towards the right post 77 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Wim Wilmes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The corner led to Netherlands's Gust Ennemans getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. The supporters of Deportivo Pergamino booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wim Wilmes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wim Wilmes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Hermengildo Aresti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
