Turgut Talha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. After 32 played minutes Club Deportivo Español got a freekick which was hit by Vítor Carioca. Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Turgut Talha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 35 minutes into the match, Wim Wilmes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Turgut Talha. Club Deportivo Español's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wim Wilmes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vacid Nefer was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Vítor Carioca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Matias Chayo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Turgut Talha made a huge save. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vacid Nefer in the 70th minute of the match. Wim Wilmes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 75th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Gustaaf Groeneveldt's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Turgut Talha firmly grabbed it by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Turgut Talha in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 92 played minutes Gustaaf Groeneveldt rounded Club Deportivo Español's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-3. If Gustaaf Groeneveldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tenho Sono kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. When the match was over Netherlands could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Club Deportivo Español throughout the match.
