In the 3rd minute Antal Valentin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Badia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 7 minutes into the match, PERSPOLIS's goal looked a bit too open when Antal Valentin came free, but Edgar Badia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emiliano Quintero kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Major Barna in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edgar Badia saved PERSPOLIS from getting behind. In the 18th minute, Antal Valentin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edgar Badia was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Major Barna in the 21st minute of play forced PERSPOLIS's goalkeeper Edgar Badia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Antal Valentin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hungary's supporters rose to their feet, but Antal Valentin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edgar Badia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Boros Benedek lost his temper 25 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 25th minute of the game. One of Hungary:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of PERSPOLIS:s goal. Honorio Carceles walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emiliano Quintero in the 31st minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Major Barna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edgar Badia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Balazs Lajos in the 38th minute of the match. Edgar Badia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Takacs Tibor, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. After 47 minutes, Szekeres Tamas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hungary and the PERSPOLIS players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 47th minute, Szekeres Tamas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 48 played minutes, PERSPOLIS's Honorio Carceles shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fodor Daniel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in PERSPOLIS reached it.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Major Barna was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Yiyo Esperta during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 52nd minute, Yiyo Esperta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 53 minutes into the match, PERSPOLIS's goalkeeper Edgar Badia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antal Valentin. In the 56th minute, Bela Herrero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hungary's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cipriano Ganix was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Major Barna got free with Edgar Badia in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fodor Daniel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ekialde Nadal, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. 77 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Ekialde Nadal came free, but Fodor Daniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Constantino Salgado during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Edgar Badia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Takacs Tibor in the 81st minute of play. In the 82nd minute Hungary were awarded a corner. Antal Valentin went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Takacs Tibor managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Hungary's Takacs Tibor got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind PERSPOLIS's goalkeeper Edgar Badia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 90 minutes into the game, Cipriano Ganix cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Fodor Daniel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ekialde Nadal in the 95th minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. PERSPOLIS were victorious despite being under pressure from Hungary for much of the match.
