The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A nice corner shot did that Tord Stolpe got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Arnout Reekers quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Peter Belkå made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 21st minute of play. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when Krister Jonsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Gust Ennemans got a free kick in the 23rd minute. In the 24th minute of the match, Krister Jonsson got a very nice opportunity to score, but Arnout Reekers was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 27th minute of play forced Lite Finare Lite Bättre's goalkeeper Peter Belkå to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lite Finare Lite Bättre's Peter Belkå played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Eikelkamp in the 30th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Eikelkamp in the 32nd minute of play forced Lite Finare Lite Bättre's goalkeeper Peter Belkå to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd minute, Bengt Termander hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Peter Belkå made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 37th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt made a precise shot to the right of Peter Belkå. Lite Finare Lite Bättre's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Peter Belkå saved Lite Finare Lite Bättre from getting behind. In the 45th minute, Krister Jonsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arnout Reekers was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1.

52 minutes into the game, Gustaaf Groeneveldt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Peter Belkå was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Through an outstanding action, after 58 minutes, Peter Belkå successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Dahlin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice moves Gustaaf Groeneveldt could shoot a difficult shot in the 61st minute, which Peter Belkå however easily saved by the left post. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Krister Jonsson in the 64th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bengt Termander during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Lite Finare Lite Bättre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bengt Termander didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 70th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Belkå saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 82nd match minute, Lite Finare Lite Bättre was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Max Rönn to maneuver through the defense. Iraklis Rapanos's late challenge caught a Netherlands's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Iraklis Rapanos helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Lite Finare Lite Bättre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iraklis Rapanos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lite Finare Lite Bättre's Peter Belkå proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Lite Finare Lite Bättre from getting a goal against them. With his leg Peter Belkå managed to avoid a goal in the 90thth minute, when Netherlands's Wim Wilmes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to Lite Finare Lite Bättre getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Roman Loncki hit a great ball.
