Major Barna struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Birger Påk didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hungary. Hungary's Fodor Daniel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Hungary from getting a goal against them. A nice corner shot did that Rasmus Ljungberg got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Fodor Daniel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Jonas Vallmark received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Fodor Daniel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 25th minute Simon Britz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fodor Daniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Antal Valentin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Birger Påk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th minute Antal Valentin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Birger Påk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Simon Britz in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fodor Daniel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 40th minute, Simon Britz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fodor Daniel was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Simon Britz got free with Fodor Daniel in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Fodor Daniel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simon Britz, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Dan Bolin hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Hungary's Major Barna got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hungary's Major Barna was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 74th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. In the 77th minute, Major Barna left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hungary fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Antal Valentin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Hungary's Antal Valentin got a free kick in the 92nd minute. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Hungary players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
