The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Adrian Bergström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. David Eikelkamp hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. George Håkansson kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the match, Nusnäs IF's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Adrian Bergström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by Nusnäs IF's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt to fire away a dangerous shot which Adrian Bergström despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bai Peng Ning in the 25th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th minute, Kees Mooiweer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th match minute, Nusnäs IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Svenne Berka to maneuver through the defense. In the 42nd minute, Wim Wilmes made a precise shot to the right of Adrian Bergström. Nusnäs IF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. When Wim Wilmes came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wim Wilmes couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gijsbert ter Kruimer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Adrian Bergström was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Adrian Bergström made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 56th minute. Lars Meesters sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Nusnäs IF's goalkeeper Adrian Bergström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bai Peng Ning recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nusnäs IF's Nicolas De Custer was substituted for Bai Peng Ning. 68 minutes into the match, Nusnäs IF's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Adrian Bergström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adrian Bergström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Nusnäs IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Love Svensson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 85th minute Nicolas De Custer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 89th minute, Svenne Berka hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 90th minute of play forced Nusnäs IF's goalkeeper Adrian Bergström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Helge Molander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 92 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Helge Molander came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 95th minute.
